This is important because we know all of the great locations to take beautiful images on your wedding day, quickly and efficiently.

When you are searching for the right wedding photographer for your big day, there are a few questions you should ask them to ensure they are a good fit for you and your fiancé.

Questions to ask your wedding photographer

1) How many weddings have you photographed?

The reason this is important is that you want to know that they are in fact, professional wedding photographers. There is a big difference between a photographer and a professional wedding photographer. You want to know how they have experience in all aspects that are weddings.

Some of the things your photographer should be experienced in photographing are:

  • Wedding Details
  • Engagement Ring
  • Wedding Bands
  • Wedding Dress
  • Veil
  • Bridal Bouquet
  • Bride Getting Ready Images
  • First Reveal with the bridal party.
  • First Reveal with the father of the bride.
  • The Grooms' reaction to seeing his bride-to-be walk down the aisle.
  • Ceremony Photos, such as:

Your vows, Ring exchange, Your first kiss as husband and wife,

  • Bridal Party Photos including: The bride with each of her bridesmaids, The groom with each of his groomsmen
  • Traditional family photos
  • Photos of the bride and groom together
  • Reception details such as: Your centerpieces, Dais, Card box, Wedding cake,
  • Reception events such as: Your grand entrance as husband and wife, First dance, Parent dances, Cake cutting ceremony, Nighttime portraits

2) How long does it take to receive your wedding photos?

Each photographer is going to have their own systems for getting their clients the final images. While some do very little editing and can give you images very quickly, others will want to perform a lot of editing to your images which extends the timeframe in which you receive your wedding gallery.

Desert Rose Wedding Photography always delivers our images to our happy couples within 4-6 weeks after the big day.

3) Will my images be high resolution / non-watermarked?

You are always going to want to receive edited, high resolution / non-watermarked images. The reason for this is because you want to be able to print all of your pretty photos on your own. All Desert Rose newlyweds receive their images high resolution / non-watermarked via an online gallery. Your wedding gallery is fully downloadable which means you can print all of your images when/where you like.

4) Who is going to be my photographer?

Being comfortable with your photographer is key to getting not only the photos you want but the experience you are looking for as well. I urge all of our couples to do an engagement shoot prior to your big day to get to know your photographer. You are going to spend all day with us, you want to be familiar with this person prior to your wedding day. We will send you links to all of our photographer's work and you get to choose the photographer that best suits your style.

5) Are my wedding photos edited?

I have personally photographed over 1000 weddings in my career. Even though I take the utmost care in getting the image perfect in-camera, I still always need to do some sort of editing to make your wedding photos perfect.

These are our basic level of editing done to all of your images.

  • Exposure
  • Color Correction
  • Contrast
  • Highlights
  • Shadows
  • Whites
  • Blacks
  • Clarity
  • Vibrance
  • Saturation
  • Noise Reduction
  • Crop
